Ensiling stimulants
Introducing biotechnological stimulants designed for ensiling all types of animal feeds: grasses, pulses, clover, alfalfa, cereals, grain, corn (whole plants, cobs or grain) and beet pulp.
Biopuls SiloRex is a series of innovative, 100 % natural, bacterial-enzyme-mineral inoculants for preparing nutritious silages of excellent quality and taste.

The Silage Expert

SiloRex helps to prepare excellent silage
and provides measurable benefits:

ease and economy of use
fast and optimal ensiling
oxygen stabilization of silage (upon opening)
inhibition of yeast and mold formation
reduction of harmful pathogens and mycotoxins
less dry matter loss in feed
eagerly eaten, stable and safe silage
productive animals and more profits

The Power of Taste
Boosting feed palatability mainly increases its level of intake, thus improving animal productivity. SiloRex is a purpose-built, scientifically tested, and farmer-approved solution of choice – created to improve the taste of silage.
Cow's choice
Cattle are macrosmatic animals, meaning they possess a sharp sense of smell, thanks to having Jacobson's organ. In general, animals use their sense of smell to obtain information collected by other senses, although in the case of social and reproductive behavior, this is a key source of information.
Cattle also have a very well-developed sense of taste. These animals have five flavors: sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami. Cows do not like bitter-tasting feed (because it may contain harmful substances) and prefer sweet (due to calories) and salty feed (to maintain the electrolyte balance). Sensitivity to sour tastes help animals maintain an optimal rumen pH.
Cows have 2.5 times more taste receptors than humans do – about 25 thousand, compared to 8-10 thousand. At first, cows eat concentrated feed. You can often see how an animal makes circular movements with its head, making a peek in the stern, because the most concentrated feed falls to the bottom, like in a funnel. Cows eat coarse, stalked particles last or leave them on the feed table.

Saving the best for last
(what is ensiling?)

In order to maintain good health and performance, our animals need a continuous supply of high quality feed nutrients the whole year round. The economical preservation of feed in adequate quantity and quality is a universal challenge.

Ensiling is a classic farm management feed preservation technique, with the aim to inhibit the spoilage of the feedstuffs while minimizing nutrient and energy losses.
This is a process in which lactic acid bacteria (LAB) convert sugars in forages into mainly lactic acid and other by-products, such as acetic or butyric acids under anaerobic conditions. This decreases the pH level, retains the high feed value, inhibits the growth of undesirable microorganisms, and preserves forage.

ALFALFA
RECIPE FOR MAKING DELICIOUS
ALFALFA HAYLAGE
Select the optimal cutting phase (budding)
Cut the plants at 30 cm or greater height
Make sure the plants dry to the humidity of 65%
Chop the mass
to a particle size
of 4-5 cm
Add Biopuls SiloRex,
according
to the instructions
Compact the mass so that each cubic meter weighs more than 750 kg
Cover the compacted mass with plastic film at the end of the day
If there are still plants left in the field the next day, start from the step 2
Provide protection from oxygen entering the feed. Incubate for 4 weeks

CORN
Choose the optimal phase for harvesting
(moisture of green
mass: 60-70%)
Chop the plants
into 1-2 cm pieces
Press the mass so that each cubic meter weighs more than 700 kg
Provide protection against the entering
of oxygen into the feed. Withstand 4 weeks

What can go wrong
(common mistakes)

Cutting in the wrong plant growth phase and in conditions of suboptimal humidity.
Cutting the plants too low.
Insufficient chopping of the plants.
Laying the mass with the grain unsufficiently flattened.
Insufficient compaction of the mass to be stored.

Covering the trench only at the end of the process, not every day until its completion.
Incorrect selection of an inoculant.
Compacting process too long after the last
batch of green mass delivery.
Leaky covering of the green mass and ignoring damage to the film.
Good bacteria at work
SiloRex has been formulated with 3 main active ingredients
working in an effective synergy:
The product contains specially selected lyophilized bacterial cultures in an amount of min. 280 billion
of live microorganisms in each gram of preparation.
These bacteria are initiated to act by a mineral starter and are action-supported by concentrated cellulolytic enzymes.
SiloRex rules the silage
(how it works)
The inoculant perfectly stimulates ensilaging
in a controlled 3-stage technological process:
1
Fermentation
- immediate bacterial penetration, strong and fast acidification
of the green material
2
Stabilization
- guaranteed aerobic stability of the silage, without the risk of heating and secondary fermentation
3
Preservation
- tasty, easily digestible, safe and nutritious starter
mineral starter - initial nutritional support of bacteria
homofermentative lactic acid bacteria
cellulolytic enzymes - release of simple sugars for bacteria and extra improvement of feed digestibility
heterofermentative lactic acid bacteria - fermentation and preservation of silage
Quality matters
Guaranteed stability
SiloRex naturally synthesizes metabolites (1,2-propanediol and propionic acid) that perfectly preserve silage. Thanks to this, we effectively maintain stability and its good usability for up to 3 years.
The SiloRex preparations contain unique bacteria that inhibit the formation of mycotoxins (aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A) and the development of pathogenic bacteria: Salmonella, Escherichia coli and Clostridium perfringens.
Microbiological safety
Improving milk quality
Cows fed silage being treated with the SiloRex technology produce milk of a significantly improved quality in terms of the somatic cell count as well as mycotoxin contamination.
Fit for the job
SiloRex is:

safe for equipment
does not corrode or damage devices
easily soluble
evenly reaches the entire silage volume
does not corrode or damage devices

and user-friendly
